SAPPRFT New Policies Restriction VOD Imports ClarifiedNovember 05, 2014
As telegraphed by many reports throughout the last half of this year, SAPPRFT (State Administraion of Press, Publication Radio Film and TV) today released details of its policy for imported content for VOD platforms slated to take effect starting April 1, 2015. Highlights are as follows: - Day and day releases are banned. The entire season must be subtitled first and then submitted to GAPPRFT for approval. Following this GAPPRFT will issue the series an approval code; - Any scenes that show violence, murder, pornography or psychotic content should be removed; - Imported series should not consist of more than 30% of all series on each platform. Series from many different countries is encouraged; - These rules apply to series that have previously been aired, but have not received GAPPRFT approval yet. Those series must be submitted as well.
