Youku/Tudou to Spend US$100 million on Content Acquisition

CHINESE ONLINE VIDEO GIANT YOUKU/TUDOU HAS ANNOUNCED THAT THEY WILL SPEND APPROXIMATELY US$100 MILLION IN CONTENT ACQUISITION FOR 2015.
ACCORDING TO YOUKU/TUDOU CHIEF CONTENT OFFICER SUNNY ZHU, THE MONEY WILL BE SPENT MAINLY ON FORMATS AND SELF PRODUCED CONTENT. THE ANNOUNCEMENT COMES ON THE HEELS OF YOUKU/TUDOU ANNOUNCING THE ACQUISITION OF TALPA’S BIG BROTHER WHICH WILL LAUNCH IN Q2 2015.
